    CONDITION OF PLANKTON COMMUNITIES IN THE WESTERN PART

    OF THE NORTHERN CASPIAN

    The data of the investigations of the qualitative and quantitative composi-tion of phyto- and zooplankton during the period of 19982010 in the western part of the Northern Caspian are given. It is stated that a certain group of sea-weeds remained constant, at the same time the intensity of their vegetation influ-enced the formation of phytoplankton in this area. In zooplankton there was a change of dominants that define quantitative development of zooplankton.
