    In this article based on the analysis of native as well as foreign materials, the origination and development

    of competence-based approach in higher vocational education are presented. It is stated that enhancement

    of the practical orientation of education is the aim of the transition to the competence-based model. Finally

    it is said that a system of quality management in the training process is important.
