  • The deflection of piles was increased gradually as the reinforcement work processed. Also, the maximum deflection and bending stress of piles were measured at the part of colluvial soils including the silty clay layer.

    The most critical stage among the reinforcement stages was the soil-nailing work stage. This increasing of pile deflection was influenced by the excavation before installing soil nails.

    The safety factor of the slope gradually tends to increase subjected to reinforcement stages. The safety factor was rapidly increased after installing piles in the upper part, and that was increased gradually in the lower part. The safety factors are satisfied with the allowable sta-ndard value in both dry and rainy conditions.
