As you know, The Community Foundation has been a long-term supporter of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Jacksonville and the work it is doing in our most challenged neighborhoods. Its part of a national effort, which was recently highlighted in a Washington Post article that we thought youd find interesting.

The Strategic Planning Task Force, led by Deb Pass Durham, met in January to kick off the year-long process. The group will be meeting regularly this spring and summer, and youll be getting updates at each Trustees meeting.

As planned, we are offering a dozen area nonprofits all the associated videography that was captured in the creation of our 50th anniversary productions. Each nonprofit has been notified that may access the complete library of HD raw video pertaining to their organization, and we will help direct them so that they are able to use this very high quality product to help promote their mission. The recipient nonprofits are:

Dont miss the Donors Forum on February 10 at The River Club! Right now, we expect about a dozen potential Jacksonville City Council candidates will be in attendance as Nina, Sherry Magill of the duPont Fund, Rena Coughlin of the Nonprofit Center for Northeast Florida, and philanthropist and former board member Laurie Dubow educate the candidates about the importance of the nonprofit and philanthropic community.
