Theo mt ngha no , truyn thng marketing gi vai tr pht ngn vin ca thng hiu v l mt phng tin to s trao i v xy dng quan h vi khch hng.

Theo m hnh truyn thng c bn AIDA ca Lewis (1898), truyn thng marketing tp trung theo ui ba loi mc tiu chnh sau y:
