Removing the covers of the laser product could result in exposure to hazardous laser radiation. Introduction </p><p>This Installation and Users Guide contains instructions for installing your Multi-Switch Interconnect Module for IBM BladeCenter in a BladeCenter unit. </p><p>Note: Using a CFFh-expansion card in combination with a CFFv-expansion card in a high-speed blade server provides simultaneous connections to both the BladeCenter high-speed I/O-module bays (7 through 10) and I/O module bays 3 and 4 in all BladeCenter-unit types. </p><p>This document contains information about: </p><p>v Installing and configuring the Multi-Switch interconnect module v Updating the firmware and device drivers of the Multi-Switch interconnect </p><p>module</p><p>Notes: </p><p>1. Installing the interconnect module </p><p>This chapter provides information for installing the interconnect module in your BladeCenter unit. </p><p>Notes: </p><p>1. This interconnect module requires a stacked pair of I/O bays. </p><p>2. You must remove all I/O modules before installing or removing the interconnect module into the BladeCenter unit.</p><p>Installation guidelines </p><p>Before you install the interconnect module in a BladeCenter unit, read the following information: </p><p>v Read the safety information that begins on page v and the guidelines in Handling static-sensitive devices. This information will help you work safely. </p><p>v Observe good housekeeping in the area where you are working. Place removed covers and other parts in a safe place. </p><p>v Orange on the release handles of an interconnect module indicates that this device can be hot-swapped, which means that you can install or remove this component while the BladeCenter unit is on.</p><p>Ha...</p></li></ul>
