<p>Generic count nouns are used when making generalizations, therefore they are not specific. The article A or An are often used. an : used if the count noun starts with a vowel sound (a,e,i,o,u). (e.g. an employee) a : used if the count noun starts with a consonant sound . (b, c, d, f, etc.) (e.g. a company) </p>
