ObjectivesTo provide poor children in Nigeria with the chance to develop their soccer skills and introduce them to professional soccer.

To teach Christian values and provide a community that will protect the children from local criminal activity and despair.

Jay Jay Okocha was lucky to have his talent recognized, leading to a highly successful and profitable career in professional soccer. However, it is not easy to obtain such recognition and achieve such success. And, this presentation will explain the process of how Mission Soccer Foundation hopes to achieve its goals.

Times are tough in Nigeria with activities from the terrorist group Boko Haram, and other violent criminal activities caused by religious extremism, poverty and hopelessness. Mission Soccer Academy seeks to teach moderate Christian values that will help guard the minds of children and youth against religious extremism. In addition, such values will teach them to believe in good ethics and the rewards of ethical behaviour to discourage crime and protect them from despair when faced with atrocities committed by others. Overall, Mission Soccer Academy is about strengthening the hearts and minds of Nigerias impoverished youth, providing them with a community that acts as an emotional and a psychological support network.4
