<ul><li><p>PE and Sport GrantBackground</p><p>In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of 150 million </p><p>for physical education (PE) and sport, to be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE </p><p>and sport provision. Funding has been allocated to all maintained and state-funded schools </p><p>with primary phase pupils from 1 September 2013. A typical primary school receives about </p><p>9,250 annually in the academic years 2013/14 and 2014/15. Funding will continue for 2015/16. </p><p>Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and </p><p>breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that </p><p>pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach performance levels they are capable of.</p><p>In 2015/16 our school had received 4327 so far.</p><p>This is how we are using the funding:</p><p>l Participation in after-school clubs We provide at least one club after school and before school. </p><p>On certain nights children have the opportunity to experience new and fun activities and games. (Ranging from year 1 to year 6)</p><p>l Clubs are open to all and adapted to suit all childrens needs. Participation from all is supported and welcomed from the Sports Team.</p><p>l This year Dale has participated in excess of over EIGHTY SPORTING ACTIVITIES, such as City festivals, county and regional competitions. Also school to school friendly </p><p>sporting events and this year school games event held at Trent College. Our committment to sport is reflected in our many achievements, this year they are:</p><p>Cricket County Champions</p><p>Table tennis county champions </p><p>Individual table tennis county champion</p><p>Tri Golf City Champions</p><p>Tag Rugby County qualifiers</p><p>City-runners up in rounder and basketball</p><p>Netball league joint champions </p><p>Ks1 Football Champions and runners-up</p><p>Mini red Tennis City Runners-up</p><p>Mini Tennis city Champions </p><p>The impact of additional funding on improving the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision:</p><p>l Foot-golf (invited to the grand opening of foot-golf at Markeaton Park).</p><p>l Boocia, Curling and ice skating.</p><p>l Represented Derby West in Derby schools games held at Trent College. Tri Golf and Mini Red Tennis.</p><p>l We offer a FUN AND FITNESS CLUB (a chance for children to take part in sporting activities every holiday)</p><p>Qualifications for Staff: </p><p>l Level 5-Proffesional qualification in Primary school physical education and subject leadership.</p><p>l Level 3- Professional qualification in Supporting the delivery of Physical Education </p></li></ul>
