    The unit includes pre-reading exercises focusing on acquiring andpracticing vocabulary essential for the comprehension of the text; the

    text adapted for students proficiency level based on the articlefrom the September/October issue of Russian Life (Lyceum Day,page 23), with glossed vocabulary. Following the text are com-prehension and discussion questions, grammar exercises, roleplay activities, and essay and presentation topics.

    In addition to the main reading, the unit includes a fragmentfrom a poem by Alexander Pushkin, with exercises.
