Background Information: You have been working on reading and analyzing articles and information over the past couple of weeks to determine your beliefs regarding the fair or unfair treatment our justice system showed Troy Davis, what makes an individual feel that he or she has a common ground or reason for showing care for another individual, whether or not teenagers today have the ability to empathize, and more! You have done an excellent job weighing out multiple factors before determining your thoughts on each issue. Your ability to analyze and develop an informed opinion on an issue has been developing whether you have known it or not! Soon enough, you will each be master debaters, persuaders, and change makers!

Today you will continue to develop these persuasive skills as you respond to persuasive question prompts and state your reasons for the answer you choose. Then you will select one of the persuasive prompts to further develop into a creative writing piece more information is available after the last persuasive prompt to guide you to develop your creative writing piece.

For each persuasive prompt you will do the following: (1) State your answer, choice on the line that has been provided in the My Response Is Line (2) Clearly explain three different reasons for your choice.
